1.
begin 04:29
in the morning, I creep across your skin, with the shades pulled tight, I can still see everything. was that a whisper, or a whimper...whatever the case may be, it was calling out to me
2.
should've seen your face, the day you walked away
3.
will you be leaving, after all that we've seen of each other? will you be hiding out, between the sheets?
4.
sure people change, I'm no stranger to that, but the fact of the matter is, you turned your back on me one too many times today
5.
another day 04:00
when I'm tired you wake me, over and over, even for nothing, I'm rollin over, at least in my sleep, I am someone clean
6.
I saw that black balloon floating on the ceiling, I know you think it's fine but you ain't got no feelings
7.
you want to take a stab, well here is your chance
8.
brains 1 02:40
if you see me, don't get too close. I'm not your friend, or a family ghost
9.
burn forever 05:01
I've been on fire for days, my legs keep shaking
10.
11.
oh goosebumps in flesh, how you narrated on and on
12.
I don't need no arms holding me down
13.
so tell me has it ever crossed your mind, that you may never, ever find what you've been looking for your whole life, because you refuse to open your eyes. it could be right there in your face, so close that you could touch or even taste, but still you feel your way around here in the dark, hoping that it crushes your little heart. I feel so bad for you
14.
creeps 05:08
15.
by the way 03:23
in the trees when I was young, that's where I heard your song. by the end of the road, wait for your lights to hit my face. just how long will this last?
16.
igloo 03:14
17.
snowshoes 04:24
18.
i don't mind 01:14
you won't wait around too long, I can tell by the look on your face. you got someplace better to be. you won't wait until there's snow on the ground, cuz you might slip and fall down. I don't mind.
19.
a mystery, a monster, a danger to myself
20.
that day, I returned home and I spotted a letter. written in blood it said, "if you want her, come get her". My chest grew tight, I set out that night with war on my hands, piss on your list of demands. Wasn't the lady so much, wasn't really her at all. They took something from me, now they best be ready to fall.
21.
feel alive 05:57
I hate to break the news to you, but all I want is to get through
22.
brains 2 05:39
that's all I'm really here for
23.
sorry I didn't call you sooner. turn on that shining star.
24.
the waves 02:48
25.
like a ghost 04:52
butterflies start flapping their wings, as soon as you begin to sing
26.
it was so cold last night, so cold I could see my breath, or was it just my spirit
27.
mitten 05:07
so much for things that die, they'll all grow back some other time
28.
i thought 02:05
here I thought you said you couldn't fly, but it must've been a lie, cuz now you're up in the sky. how's the weather up there?
29.
I've tried everything I could, I've tried pills, I've tried TV
30.
I wish we could stay together and not eventually fall apart
31.

about

Spanning roughly 1997-2007, the recordings compiled here were created by various configurations of Christo, Matt, Mike, and Terence in many different snowbound rooms and apartments across Michigan, sonically evoking the darkness, isolation and chill of 3am in desolate Midwestern winters. Fueled by coffee, hash, and psychedelic drugs, the recordings contained here are arranged in roughly reverse chronological order, beginning with newer, more direct music made through digital processes, and running all the way back to the tape experiments and mournful echolalia of the earliest recordings.

about

Napatista Seattle, Washington

The atmosphere of desolate-sounding Western soundtracks and the unsettling otherworldliness of synthesized textures of ‘80s electronic music as nightmarish travelogues replete with confusion, nihilism and the insignificance of man in an unforgiving and alien landscape. ... more
